Amanecer was founded by Rodolfo Basurto in 2000, (now deceased).  He was born in El Paso, TX.  He pursued a career as a psychologist where he received a presidential scholarship to attend Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska and received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology in May, 1991.  He went on to obtain his Masters and Doctorate Degrees from the California School of Professional Psychology in August, 1996.  He obtained his PhD at the age of 28.  He concentrated in multi-cultural community clinical psychology.  After earning his PhD, he returned to El Paso, TX and began his career at the counseling center at the University of Texas in El Paso as a Counseling Psychologist.

     Dr. Basurto began his private practice in early 2000, opening Amanecer Psychological Services now Amanecer Community Counseling Center where his passion and dream lives on serving the Southern New Mexico Community specializing in providing mental health and substance abuse counseling to children, adolescents and adults.
